We all struggle in the morning with the dilemma of what should I make for breakfast or kids lunch boxes OR what will I carry in my tiffin? Even if you do not go to work and work from home or are just a stay at home mum, still that question of breakfast and lunch box is the same for you. What If I told you that the solutions are very easy and the benefits maximum. Your kids will think you are a super mom because you can create such an attractive tiffin.
There were two reasons I started with the method of meal planning, meal prep and creating meal premixes The first was the constant bugger in my head ” khane ke liye kya banau?” [ What should I make for lunch?]. I am a working woman, who needs to leave the house early and it used to constantly stress me out,to think what breakfast should I make or for lunch what I will pack in my husband’s tiffin- box, the icing on the cake is I have a family who are fussy eaters and love to pamper their tongues. So normal pohe,Khichdi, Upma the staples really don’t resonate with them. My spouse needs eggs every morning for breakfast, while sis in law and daughter prefer something different. 2.] I am myself a slow eater, so would always struggle with having time to eat my own breakfast 🙃
So,Trust me when I say, this method of preparing before hand really Saved time for me,reduced my efforts, took away my worries and confusion and the best part I got to become creative because now I have host of dishes at my disposal. Also not to forget time to eat my breakfast 😋ofcourse when that is not possible I still start my mornings with boiled egg that’s a compulsory done these days as I realized it’s unhealthy to leave home on empty stomach. Do read my article, have shared the link below. ⬇️It speaks about 3 simple and easy things which anyone of us can do to improve our well-being and quality of our health.
3 steps to amazing health and well being.

In this blog,I am going to share 3 Ideas which are very convenient to use, also we have all the ingredients and vegetables in our pantry,so without further ado, let’s begin :
- 1. PREMIX :
- Toss all your favorite veggies in a blender or a food chopper and roughly chop these vegetables, this will act as a versatile filling for sandwiches, pastas, noodles, fried rice or to make apple or mixed vegetables or fried rice.
- Garlic :
- Similar to the vegetables, rough grind enough garlic which you require for a week, add oil and preserve, you can even make Ginger-garlic paste at home and store in the freezer. Add a little oil before you store,it acts as a preservative.
- 2. CREATE CURRY PASTES OR CHUTNEYS.
- Mint-Chutney :
- Just like the premix,MINT CHUTNEY is very versatile, if you prepare and keep this CHUTNEY before hand for a week, you are able to make any kinds of sandwiches, momoz or samosas anytime you want. Plus you can use the mint chutney as a base to make host of chicken and Paneer recipes.
- Red Gravy Paste :
- Just like the mint chutney, prepare and keep the red curry mix using the above ginger garlic mix, coconut, red chili powder, turmeric, salt and Garam masala powder, this gravy paste can be used to make bharwa- baingan bhaat-khicdi, egg curry or Pulao.
- Other meal prep ideas:
- Keep boiled potatoes ready can be used to make sandwiches, samosas, parathas.
- In an airtight container, keep some roughly chopped mixed vegetables (big bite-sized) for making mixed vegetable,to add in Pulao or veg/chicken stew.
- 3. HAVE A MEAL PLAN :
- We often cook days after days, weeks after weeks, we know what works best for our family. This seems an easy tip,but many times we don’t follow through, write down all the recipes in the order of easy to hard and delegate a time slot, when you will cook them.
- For example I cook the easy to medium recipes in the mornings as my mornings are quite hectic, but evenings are light,so I get chance to become creative, work around complicated, complex recipes or experiment with some new recipes. You choose what works for you best.
- Create a schedule for a week, of what recipes you will cook that week. This way you buy what is required, important and urgent. Saves you from buying excess and unnecessary or unwanted. I am sharing a template for you to use as a guide to create your own schedule. Hope you will benefit from it. You can create a printable or write your schedule in a planner or diary.
