CHRISTMAS COMPANIONS CHOCOLATE, CAKES AND COOKIES.

COOK TIME : 15 MINUTES
CHILLING TIME : 3 TO 4 HOURS.
TOTAL TIME : 3 AND 1/2 HRS TO 4 HR( INCLUDES THE CHILLING TIME).
SERVING: 18 TO 20 COOKIES

Ingredients:
- Unsalted butter : 1/2cup.
- Powdered sugar : 1 cup.
- Egg : 1 large or 2 medium.
- Milk : 1 TBSP (tablespoon)
- Vanilla extract : 1/2 TSP ( tea spoon)
- All purpose flour ( Maida) : 1 and 1/2 cup well sifted.
- Baking powder : 1 TSP ( tea spoon)
- Salt : To taste.
Preparation:
- In a bowl add butter at room temperature, in the same bowl mix 1 cup sugar, egg yolks, milk, vanilla extract.
- Next sift all purpose flour, baking powder and salt together and add this mix to the butter and beat well.
- Cover and refrigerate for minimum 3 to 4 hours for the dough to be nicely firm.
- Heat the oven to 375 Fahrenheit (190 degrees). Roll the dough into small balls of 3/4 inch in diameter.
- Place them apart on lightly greased sheets. Flatten it using a fork to give it chequered texture.
- Bake them for 10 to 12 minutes or till they are nicely golden brown near the edges.
- Transfer on a wire rack to cool to your desired temperature.
- Tip: (This step is purely optional using the cookies as the base you can make loads of different versions of recipes. Ex: you can add any syrup on top of the cookies,add chocochips and fruits, adding a dust of confectioner’s sugar.)
