It’s been quite a while since I have posted my last blog, 🎄 Christmas and New Year season being the busiest part of the year,followed by the Prelim Exams of my students.(It’s a pre -board exam which under grad students have to give in India to qualify for degree courses in college) Being a teacher, blogger, mother & wife all are important responsibilities, not to mention the other small stuffz of life.
Though it has been quite hectic through paper corrections, extra classes and the other responsibilities, I was dying to reconnect with my tikkaz nd curriez family 👪 You are my therapy ❤, when I write I feel rejuvenated and strengthened. You know you are loved,cared and thought after even though you might not connect often or may be you are far. The joy of reconnecting is very different. And that’s the joy and happiness you bring.
So,I thought let’s create something easy and quick to restart the blogging journey again.
I will share this simple but easy minced meat 🍖 recipe with you,this recipe is simple,easy to make and can be made with any meat,cottage cheese (Paneer) or Tofu.
Obviously cooking times will vary accordingly. The minced meat needs to be tender and juicy. This Recipe is my favorite because of it’s simple cooking style and yet the taste is good and aromatic.

So,shall we begin:
Ingredients:
- Minced meat : 1kg
- Whole spices
- Curd
- Onions thinly sliced. (Fried golden brown)
- Green chilli made into paste
- Ginger : 1 inch
- Garlic pods : 10 to 12.(made into ginger garlic paste)
- Red chilli powder
- Coriander
- Lemon
- Oil
- Turmeric
- Salt to taste
- Water.
PREPARATION:
- 1 Rinse the minced meat thoroughly and drain.
- 2 Roast the whole masalas
- 3 Slice the onions thinly and fry them golden brown.
- 4 In blender blend the roasted masala and the fried onion together, add little water,make a fine paste.
- Now marinate the minced meat with curd,the masala mix and green chilli paste
- In a pan add oil,add the remaining masala, chilie powder,ginger garlic paste and stir
- When it starts releasing oil add the marinated meat,salt to taste and water according to your required consistency.
- Close the lid,let it cook on medium flame for 5 to 10 mins,check in between to see the gravy consistency and to avoid the keema from sticking to the pan.
- Once cooked, garnish with coriander, can sprinkle some lemon juice to give it that sour and tangy element.
- Serve with your favorite Roti,Naan Or Rice.

kcalMasala Keema is a spicy minced meat gravy originally from the Indian subcontinent.” Keema is basically minced meat” & Masala is an aromatic blend of spices. It is typically made with lamb,goat or chicken. “It’s both comforting at the same time easy to make and can be eaten easily with rice or naan.
Ingredients
Minced meat : 1kg (of your choice)
Onions : 4 to 5
Ginger : 1 inch finely grated
Garlic : 10 to 12 cloves (peeled and finely chopped)
Green chilies : 4 to 5 ( You can increase if you need more heat.)
Whole masalas : 2 table spoon: dried coconut (Grated), cloves : 4 to 5, Cinnamon: 2 sticks of 1 inch, Black pepper: 5 to 6, Dried Red Chilies: 6 to 7, Poppy seeds (khaskhas) : 1 tablespoon, Fennel seeds(saunf) : 1TBSP, sesame seeds : 1TSP (teaspoon), 2 to 3 Black cardamom (masala elaichi.)
Oil : 2 to 3 tablespoon.
Turmeric : 1 teaspoon.
Curd : 2 to 3 tablespoon or as per your preference.
Red chili powder : 1TSP for red color.
Indian garam masala powder: 1/2teaspoon.
Salt : To taste.
Coriander : 1/2 bunch finely chopped for garnish.
Tomato : 1 boiled, peeled and mashed to pulp(remove the seeds.)
Directions
- Wash the minced meat properly with running water and keep it aside to drain.
- After the water is completely drained out,add the following ginger garlic paste, green chili paste, curd,turmeric, salt,2 tsp red chilie powder, garam masala and marinate the minced meat.
- Slice the onions, golden fry and keep it aside
- In a pan heat the oil, then add grated coconut, cloves, cinnamon, black pepper, dry red chilies, poppy seeds,sesame seeds, fennel seeds, cardamom and roast all of the above whole spices.
- In the blender add all of these above whole spices and the roasted onion add little water and blend well.
- In a pressure cooker add oil, when it’s heated add the above mix of spices and roast well till it leaves oil at the side. To this add ginger garlic paste and the marinated minced meat and saute again.
- Nicely roast the above ingredients and when it has turned nice reddish brown, add the tomato pulp or finely chopped tomato to the mix.
- You can either pressure cook for 10 mins on medium, let it give 3 to 4 whistles Or cook it with a lid.( Don’t forget to add water and salt according to your taste-( water will definitely depend on how thick or thin you want your gravy)
- If you want the minced meat to be dry,adjust the water accordingly to the required consistency.
- Once done garnish with coriander and lemon and serve hot with chapati Naan roti or white steamed rice or plain pulava.
Notes
- You can add end number of veggies and make this recipe like a paav bhaji vegetable mix for example cauliflower, peas,carrots
- I have used goat meat,you can use any of your choice.
- You can make the minced meat bit dry and add it as a topping on your sandwich 🥪, there are numerous ways you can use this recipe in creating your favorite fusion food.
- The calorie content is a rough estimate for 1 kg of lamb meat (the calorie count will increase or reduce depending on the meat.)
